Get expert tuning assistance from over 20 years of professional EFI tuning experience without bringing your vehicle to our shop. Remote tuning allows us to connect directly to your vehicle over the internet and make calibration changes in real time.
Once you have added the appropriate amount of remote tuning time to your shopping cart, please select "Pick Up from KO" as the shipping option before checkout.
Every vehicle is different. The amount of time required depends heavily on how complete and well-executed the project is before tuning begins.
Factors that can increase tuning time include:
A properly prepared vehicle typically requires approximately 2-4 hours to establish reliable starting, idle quality, injector dead time accuracy, and a solid baseline fuel calibration.
Additional street tuning is then performed through data log reviews, calibration revisions, and follow-up testing. Developing a well-refined fuel table generally requires an additional 2-4 hours, depending on the complexity of the project and the quality of the data collected.
Once a stable fuel calibration has been developed, the vehicle can generally be driven reliably on the street, or a remote dyno tuning session can be scheduled at your local dyno facility while KO Racing performs the tuning remotely.
A remote dyno session for a single-fuel calibration (such as pump gasoline) typically requires approximately 2 hours. Additional fuel calibrations generally require:
Flex-fuel calibrations usually require additional street logging and follow-up revisions to fully optimize blending and compensation tables. This process typically requires an additional 2-4 hours beyond the initial dyno session.
At an absolute minimum, the ECU must be receiving accurate and reliable data from the sensors required to safely operate and tune the engine.
Minimum required sensors include:
Strongly Recommended:
A fuel pressure sensor provides valuable information when diagnosing fuel system issues and can help prevent costly engine damage caused by fuel delivery problems. While a vehicle can often be tuned without one, it is one of the most important sensors we recommend for any serious performance application.
If critical sensor data is missing, inaccurate, or unstable, tuning time may increase due to the additional effort required to diagnose, troubleshoot, and correct the issue. Reliable sensor data is the foundation of a safe, efficient, and successful calibration.
After more than two decades of professional tuning experience, we've found that no two projects require the same amount of effort.
Charging a single flat rate would be unfair to customers who have invested time and effort into building a properly prepared vehicle, while also being unfair to the tuner when extensive troubleshooting is required.
Some projects are ready to tune immediately, while others require significant diagnosis and correction before tuning can even begin. Billing by the hour ensures customers pay only for the time actually required for their project.
Remote tuning requires:
We typically use AnyViewer (free for most users) or Google Chrome Remote Desktop.
Live tuning appointments are normally scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time. Special accommodations may be available for evenings and weekends depending on customer needs.
Please note that rates may increase for after-hours or weekend sessions.
No. We track the time used during each session and maintain a running balance of any remaining prepaid time.
Yes. Payment is generally required before services are rendered.
Established customers with a proven history of prompt payment may be offered alternative arrangements at our discretion.
No. By purchasing remote tuning services, you acknowledge and accept the risks inherent in high-performance vehicle modifications and tuning.
We make every effort to deliver safe, reliable calibrations and will communicate any concerns regarding hardware limitations or operating conditions. However, increasing engine performance inherently involves risk, and no tuner can guarantee against component failure.
Our approach has always been conservative, methodical, and focused on long-term reliability. Over more than 20 years of professional tuning experience, engine failures resulting directly from our tuning work have been extremely rare.
